Potassium Aluminum Fluoride is a commercial purity fused inorganic salt. It has useful properties and is used in a number of industrial applications. The compound is used as salt flux in the smelting of secondary aluminium to maximize metal recovery, to reduce or remove the magnesium content of liquid aluminium alloys and as filler in the manufacture of abrasives.
