Sodium Sulphate

Sodium Sulphate

Sodium sulfate, also known as anhydrous sodium sulfate, is a white fine particle crystal or powder, hygroscopic, easily soluble in water, aqueous solution is neutral. Soluble in glycerol, insoluble in alcohol. The anhydrous substance with high purity and fine particles is called sodium powder.

Sodium Sulphate Types

The Difference of Ore-Produced Sodium Sulfate and By-Product Sodium Sulfate

Ore-Produced Sodium Sulfate is a kind of deep processing product obtained by carbonization and high temperature reaction of mineral raw materials. Common mineral raw materials are diamond, corundum and so on. Ore-Produced Sodium Sulfate has a relatively uniform particle shape and high purity, with good pressure resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics, widely used in the manufacture of precision ceramics, high hardness metal tools and other fields.

By-product sodium silicate powder refers to sodium silicate obtained from industrial waste residue through separation, extraction, screening, crushing and other steps. This production method can make full use of industrial waste residue resources, but the particle shape and composition of by-product powder are often more uneven, and contain certain impurities. Therefore, by-product powder is mainly used in some general requirements of the field, such as building materials, cement, ceramics and so on.

Sodium Sulphate Use

Sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) finds diverse applications across industries. It serves as a raw material in chemical manufacturing for producing sodium sulfide and sodium silicate. In the pulp and paper industry, it aids in pulping processes and enhances paper brightness. Sodium sulfate is crucial in textile dyeing and printing, facilitating dye absorption. It's a common ingredient in powdered detergents, acting as a bulking and anti-caking agent.

In glass manufacturing, it reduces melting temperatures and improves glass quality. Analytically, it's used as a drying agent in chemistry. Sodium sulfate is also employed as a deicing agent and approved as a food additive for specific purposes.
